Invited to dinner at Harry J's Steakhouse by an old friend passing through St. Louis. I had never been there and when I pulled up (thanks Google) I thought I may have gone to the wrong spot since it was a little more "quaint" than I was expecting. But it was a pleasant surprise from every aspect. The staff was friendly and accommodating. While older, the ambiance was perfect to enjoy a good steak with long time friends. And, of course, the food was delightful, steaks prepared perfectly to each individual's liking. Unlike trends today, the price of the steaks included a house salad and your choice of a side dish. Given the rapid rise in costs these days, this was a welcome change. While I didn't try one of their tasty looking desserts, my friends did and were very pleased. As I intimated earlier, it is rare to find a diamond in the rough but Harry J's qualifies. It is a nice, casual establishment that was a welcome find!

Had an early dinner Saturday evening. Place was fairly busy at 4:30. We ate at the bar, and the server was very attentive. I had their French Onion soup, my wife had a dinner salad with the house dressing. Both were excellent. We split the prime rib dinner special, a 20 ounce cut, definitely enough for the two of us. I requested medium rare, which it was, even after they grilled it prior to serving. I wasn't a fan of that because the tail portion of the prime, my favorite part, was totally burnt. I am not sure if they would serve it without charring it first. For dessert, we took home a slice of carrot cake, very moist. As to the liquor service, I was not a fan of the measured shots, would have preferred a hand pour, considering the price and amount of alcohol received. Overall, it was a positive experience, and we'll probably return.

Seems like a decent place to go in Moscow Mills. I had the Harry J Burger and it was huge! Came with fries. Would like to try other things on their menu in the future. Service was great by our waitress. It's in a very-old building, as you'll see from the inside. Warning: they do allow smoking inside except for cigars.

So great! Ordered lots of sandwiches for pick up for an event at Black Hawk and they hit the spot. Everything was correct and staff was so friendly. I will for sure order again when out at Black Hawk.

Food is always good, hot, fresh. You never have to wait for a table. The service is great and the staff is friendly. The price is right for the area.

Nice local joint in Wentzville. I had the Salmon and it was very good! They achieved a nice crust on the salmon, then added a sweet honey/mustard sauce that was delicious. Sweet potato fries were pretty good too. Would definitely recommend the salmon! Very attentive and friendly service.
